We’ve spied upon hippopotamus as it has visited Mattikoko Safari camp, also the elusive bat-eared fox and the even more elusive aardvark. Now it’s time for something a lot less elusive and unmistakable!

One of our PIR trail camera captured astonishingly close footage of a giraffe feeding directly above the lens. So close the PIR burns out. The giraffe feeds from the tree the camera is tethered to. Then… nature carried on being nature! No narration. No interference. Just a giraffe getting on with life, entirely unconcerned about the camera below. These are the moments we love sharing with our safari guests when we review trail cam footage together. Trail cameras reveal the intimate, unseen side of the bush, sometimes majestic, sometimes funny, always real.
